History doesn't shape people to what they will become but to convince people in doing well. Being rich or outstandingly smart will not promise anyone in being successful. But hard work, determination and perseverance are also needed.
I come from a broken family and the word 'parent' is not in my life dictionary. I was raised by my grandmother. She had not been working but yet raising me up at her old age. Thanks to bursary and financial help I'm able to continue schooling.
About my dad, he loves to draw. He has made a lot of art piece and was used to make as wall decoration which was always envied by relative. Unfortunately my dad is currently serving his prison sentence and will be released soon. He has been in and out of prison since I was young. When he was freed, he will be living with my aunt and then spend most of his time working. Even from his physical look, people will judge him bad due to his overwhelming tattoo all over his body. It was self made tattoo by him which does not cost him a lot to have it. Unfortunately it cost much more to remove it. He has always been working hard to earn enough to remove the entire tattoo on him.
My dad and my mom devoiced and I was separated from my mom since I was young too and never met her before. And just like my dad, she was also an ex-convict too.
Being from a broken family does not equal to being someone with a broken dream. So despite of all those past history, I was determined to do the best I could. I would like to repay my grandmother and given my parent an eye opening situation and hoping that they will change for the better.
